The Vanford's sensitivity is achieved by the MGL rotor which, like the body, is made from Shimano's exclusive Ci4+ composite material. This is also why the reel is so light in the hand. Internally, HAGANE Gear, MicroModule II, X-SHIP, InfinityDrive, InfinityXross and Silent Drive technologies work harmoniously together to deliver exceptional smoothness and strength. The Vanford is also equipped with Shimano's Duracross brake, which offers precise control to secure the fishing of highly combative fish. The Anti-Twist Fin controls the pressure exerted on the line as it passes the roller. It is particularly useful when fishing with very light lures.
