An excellent alternative to shore and boat fishing

Kayak fishing is possible up to 2 miles from a shelter, and with several people, up to 6 miles. With the advent of kayaks with propulsion other than the paddle (pedals, propellers, motors), certain areas have become more easily accessible to anglers. On the whole, however, kayak fishing is geared towards Finesse and edge fishing. It is in these conditions, with the discretion and precision of drifting, that the kayak offers an advantage over the boat. Edge fishing, like all fishing, requires a maximum of knowledge for maximum efficiency. Low tides are a tremendous asset when it comes to knowing the bottom and substrate. Clearly, in these areas, Sea bass come to enjoy the warm waters and eat crab, shrimp and other small fish. When they are present, they are rarely inactive and not very fussy in their attacks. Matching blanks

Fishing is done with both hard and soft lures, and you rarely take more than 2 rods with you in a kayak. So you need to opt for rods that are complementary and versatile. As for rod size, in the early days of PEK, the fashion was for very short rods, under 2 metres. We're tending to go back to longer rods. They allow you to cast further, control the lure better on the way down, be more efficient on the strike and get around the kayak more easily in a fight.

Our recommended handles

As fishing is done sitting down, the length of the heel is an important factor. If the heel protrudes beyond the forearm, it quickly becomes a nuisance. Distance between butt and reel foot between 29 and 33cm. is a good compromise. The handle accessories for these blanks are the very heart of rodbuilding. It's in this range of accessories that the offer is most extensive. We've selected 3 different handle kits to match the blanks. When you place your order, please let us know the desired length between butt and reel foot so that we can adjust the rings. You can also ask us to change the color of the handle kit rings (while stocks last).

Compatible guides

We offer you3 Fuji Guide packsof different finishes, corresponding to different budgets and frequencies of use. The first segment of the range is occupied by theAlconite ceramic Guide and Inox frameThese rings are ideal for occasional use, offering excellent value for money. The frame of these Guides is made of Inox with an anti-corrosion coating. The Alconite ceramic provides good glide and heat dissipation for the braid. Take care, however, not to spool dry fly braid onto these guides. The second level of the range is occupied by Guide rings withInox and SIC ceramic frameworks. In this Guide range, the frame is still made of coated stainless steel, but the ceramic is made of Fuji SIC, which offers better glide and greater resistance. Finally, the top-of-the-range Fuji range is represented by Guide rings in Titanium-Torzite. The Titanium frame is much lighter and, above all, totally insensitive to corrosion. The ceramic is made of Torzite, another Fuji proprietary material that enables the braid to glide perfectly over the ceramic. This high-performance ceramic requires less material, enabling the use of smaller tunnel Guides. Less weight = greater sensitivity and performance.
