AB1: roller guides, tip tops and carbon trolling butts

AB1 Tackle was founded in 2016 in Lombardy by Alessandro Bellebono. A keen big game angler, he wanted to offer better solutions than those already on the market. His team started by testing the roller guides and rods available at the time.

Those tests led to the full floating roller guide, protected by an international patent. Its two feet swing and follow the bend of the blank instead of blocking it. AB1 designs and builds its components in Italy, within its own supply chain: guides, handles, reel seats and structural carbon feet.

From 2018, the brand also built its own big game rods, from drifting to offshore trolling. In 2023, it opened new headquarters in the province of Bergamo, with a showroom and a workshop. Rodhouse stocks its roller guides, guide kits, tip tops and a carbon trolling butt, so you can build your own heavy rod.
