Black Hole USA starts with a Korean factory. NS Black Hole was founded in 1988 and makes rods for saltwater and freshwater. In 2010, the brand reached the United States with the Cape Cod Special, a jigging and popping series designed by Kil Song.

Kil Song designed and tested the prototypes before their release on the American market. The blanks are designed in the United States, then made by NS in Korea. In 2016, a bluefin tuna of more than 1,000 pounds was landed stand-up on a Cape Cod Special 450 g, off Prince Edward Island. The fight lasted about an hour.
