For fly fishing Permit, the recommended rod power is generally #10. However, for small Permits, a #9 Silk can also be used.

For Permit fishing, the preferred blank length is generally 9 feet (approx. 2.74 metres). 9-foot rods offer a good balance between precision and manoeuvrability, making them ideal for Permit fishing.
