The story of the brand

From a net workshop to Kerhy lures

In 1938, René Kersaudy founded a company in Brittany that assembled fishing nets. He bet on quality work, and his nets soon won over commercial fishermen. In 1970, the second generation of the family took over. The company became Kersaudy & Le Meur and moved to Poullan-sur-Mer, in Finistère.

For decades, the business stayed focused on commercial fishing, with nets and ropes. The company then opened up to sport fishing under the Kerfil name. In 2019, it unveiled the Kerhy Shad at the Nantes fishing show, a soft lure designed by Yvon Houssais.

In 2021, Ronan Le Meur, president for 23 years, handed the management to two company executives, Sébastien Kiehl and Rodolphe Baubion. The Kerhy family has grown around the first shad, with the Kerhy Fat and the Kerhy Thon heads for tuna on feeding frenzies.
