Toray carbon is the base of its series. In 2015, Phenix unveiled the K2 series at the ICAST show in Orlando. Its blanks pair a Toray T-46 composite with a layering process of the brand's own. The Recon Elite series takes another route, with woven T-36 carbon and in-house Nanolite resins.

In December 2023, Phenix Rods joined the GSM Outdoors group. The brand was then based in Santa Fe Springs, California. It still designs rods and blanks for fresh and salt water, with the same care in the choice of fibres.

Know-how built on Toray carbon

Recon Elite: woven Toray T-36 carbon, bound with Phenix Nanolite resins.

Black Diamond: high-strength Toray fibres and a thin diameter to save weight.

Several series also come as bare blanks for rod building. Rod builders then work on the same base as the finished rods of the brand. The same carbon and the same layering process are found in both.
