Our take on the TCS

The TCS is Fuji's casting reel seat with trigger. For us, it's a very good choice when you aren't sure about your blank's diameter. It doesn't glue directly onto the blank, and a shim fills the gap. No headaches!

Building it: a shim, a rear grip, a ring

A shim to fill the gap

The TCS is a full reel seat, so it doesn't glue directly onto the blank. That leaves a gap between the two, and a shim fills it. You glue the shim inside the reel seat, in the size that matches yours (16 or 18).

That's why it's a very good choice if you're unsure about your blank's diameter. Nothing complicated, but it is a step you don't skip. The ribbed interior then does its job, and the epoxy grips better.

Trigger, rear grip and ring

The trigger is molded as one piece with the body of the reel seat, with a smooth profile.

For compatibility, the TCS works with RRG80-type rear grips and WCC-type rings. So you can pair it with a casting RRG rear grip and a WCC ring.

And what about contact with the blank? There is none, it is a full reel seat. If that contact is what you are after, an exposed-blank model like the Fuji ACSM will suit you better.
