The SLX DC is one of the flagship models in the highly popular SLX series. Renowned for its value for money and ease of use, this SLX DC model benefits from Shimano's I-DC4 Digital Control casting system, which automatically optimizes casting performance over a wide range of lines, conditions and casting techniques.
The SLX DC is compact, flexible and offers unrivalled value. The SHIMANO DC system makes casting effortless and is now available to a wide audience worldwide. The SLX DC retains all the qualities of the original models and enhances them with Shimano's I-DC4 digital control system. This brilliant technology can be set to one of 4 modes to maximize your casting performance, while reducing wigs and other problems. Available in two sizes, the 150/151 sizes offer great versatility, while the smaller 70/71 size is perfect for casting lighter lures.
Shimano's exclusive I-DC4 digital control is perfectly integrated into the SLX DC's compact body. The modes are as follows: Mode 1 designed for maximum distance (less magnetic braking). Mode 2 designed specifically for fishing with braid. Mode 3 for fluorocarbon fishing. Mode 4 offers maximum control (the greatest amount of magnetic drag) for applications such as skipping. Once set, the on-board microcomputer, which powers itself by generating its own electricity, does all the work, leaving you to aim and cast.
Like all SLX models, the aluminum HAGANE frame creates a perfect body for the precision gearing, and the aluminum S3D spool reduces vibration during casting and retrieving. The SLX DC is hard to beat when you're looking for a trouble-free casting reel.
