Product description
Our Review of the BIM Tackle Shallow Cruiser
A French-designed lure with an original look. The combination of a lead-free resin head, a synthetic collar (competition-approved) and a VV Cruiser grub produces a very attractive action: slow, shallow, with a rolling motion and vibrations that make the difference on edge pike. And its competition approval is a real advantage for those looking for a legal alternative to natural bucktails.

On the Water: a Hybrid for Fishing Shallow Zones
The Lead-Free Resin Head and Slow Sinking: Staying in the Strike Zone
The BIM Tackle Shallow Cruiser is built around a lead-free resin head that fundamentally changes the lure's behavior in the water. Where a classic weighted head quickly sinks the rig out of the hunting zone of edge pike, the resin head keeps the lure in the surface water layer with a slow sinking rate calibrated at 6 seconds per meter. This very slow sink rate allows you to work shallow spots such as weed beds, plateaus and vegetated edges at very low retrieval speeds, where posted pike actively hunt without diving down for their prey. The slow and shallow action of the Shallow Cruiser is particularly well-suited to spring and autumn sessions, during periods of intense feeding activity by pike in shallow areas.
The Synthetic Collar: Maximum Water Displacement and Competition Approval
The 100% synthetic collar of the Shallow Cruiser is the element that generates the majority of the lure's water displacement. Its fibers pulse with every pressure change in the water and create a hydrodynamic signal detectable at long range by the lateral line of pike, even in low-light conditions or slightly colored water. This material choice also has an important practical consequence for competitors: the synthetic collar is permitted under predator fishing competition rules, where natural fibers such as bucktail are sometimes banned. The Shallow Cruiser is therefore a tool that can be used directly in a competition context without any modification.
The VV Cruiser and the Articulated Screw: a Unique Hybrid Action and Interchangeable Trailer
The VV Cruiser grub supplied with the Shallow Cruiser generates a hybrid action that combines two types of stimuli: strong and jerky vibrations produced by its fork tail, and a pronounced rolling of the entire body with each turn of the reel handle. This combination creates a swimming profile that active edge pike find hard to ignore, as they simultaneously perceive the high-frequency vibrations of the tail and the mass displacement of the rolling motion. The articulated screw connecting the VV Cruiser to the resin head allows the trailer to be replaced in seconds to adapt the presentation to the conditions of the moment.
