Matching blanks
The width of the environment is important, but not the only criterion. Depending on whether you're wading or shore fishing, upstream or downstream, early season or summer, 20cm or 70cm fish, the angler's specifications vary. Here is a selection of6 blanks that cover several situations:
Rodbuilders' Republic PPS 54UL :1m63, 1.5-7g, One-piece A great little blank for wading in streams. Excellent for size 1 spinner, Powertail 30 and 38 and Tiny Fry 38 and 50.
Suzuki RXF-4LB-602 Blank : 1m82, 1-5g, 2 sections : Blank ideal for early-season downstream fishing. Blank is easy to load and can easily handle 38mm minnows.
NFC FW 662-2 IM 1m98, 2-7g, 2 sections : Blank ideal to animate a minnow at long distance. A contact 50 or an incite 44 represents an occasional high range.
NFC FW 704 SM 2m13, 3.5-15g, One-piece: Blank perfect for all swimming fish in medium-sized rivers. It has plenty of reserve power and superb fighting action. This SM version is more forgiving in weight and animation and will accept a d-contact 85.
NFC SJ 762-2 HM 2m28, 3-12g, 2 sections : For big rivers, this Blank is formidable. It takes the D-Contact 50 very well. At high range, it accepts D-Contact 72 and 10-12g ripples. Its resonance will help you when fishing with soft lures such as Black Minnow 90.
Rodbuilders' Republic PPS86MH-2 2m59, 7-28g, 2 sections: Suitable for larger environments, this blank allows long casting and precise animation but does not unhook fish.
Contrary to Trout fishing in small rivers where the handle is generally short, here we tend to lengthen the heel reel distance to optimize casting distance. However, care should be taken not to exceed 35cm since, if you're generally fishing from the shore, a handle that's too long can be a disadvantage when wading. It will also be a disadvantage for energetic twiches made with the wrist. Trout are very wary, so avoid flashy finishes. But once again, it's up to you to choose the rod that suits your needs. Don't hesitate to comment on your order, giving us the desired length between butt and reel foot so that we can adjust the ferrules. You can also ask us to change the color of the handle kit rings (while stocks last).
We offer 3 Fuji Guide packs in different finishes, to suit different budgets and frequencies of use. The first segment of the range is occupied by Alconite ceramic Guides with an Inox frame, offering excellent value for money for occasional use. The frame of these Guides is made of Inox with an anti-corrosion coating. The Alconite ceramic provides good glide and a high heat dissipation rate for the braid, but take care not to spool dry fly braid onto these guides. The second level of the range is occupied by SIC ceramic and Inox-framed Guides. In this Guide range, the frame is still made of coated stainless steel, but the ceramic is made of Fuji SIC, which offers better glide and greater resistance. Finally, the top of the Fuji range is represented by the Titanium-Torzite Guides. The Titanium frame is much lighter and, above all, totally insensitive to corrosion. The ceramic is made from Torzite, another Fuji proprietary material that enables the braid to glide perfectly over the ceramic. This ultra-high-performance ceramic requires less material, enabling the use of smaller tunnel guides. Less weight = greater sensitivity and performance.
