Product description

The Rodhouse take

The Baffeur Jerk revives the compact Scandinavian jerkbait: a flat-sided profile, a reinforced ABS shell and a through-wire stainless frame that takes the biggest pike without flinching. Its slow sink behaviour and tail eyelet for a teaser make it a versatile lure between tight twitches and wide glides. Serious build quality, made to last against the teeth.

The Baffeur Jerk in action

A through-wire frame built for big pike

Strength is the Baffeur Jerk's first argument. Its reinforced ABS shell and its through-wire stainless frame, where the eyelets are linked together, absorb violent strikes and hard fights with no risk of pull-out. This full wire build aims it at big pike and exotic predators, where a less armed lure would show its limits. The two black nickel treble hooks, heavy-gauge and ultra-sharp, round out a package designed for reliability against the teeth.

Tight twitches or wide glides, your call

The Baffeur Jerk sits between a twitchbait and a slider, which opens up several animation styles depending on the mood of the fish:

  • on a wide jerk, it darts off in broad glides that trigger active pike,
  • on short, sharp rod taps, it zigzags more discreetly for apathetic fish,
  • on a steady straight retrieve, it offers a regular, easy-to-work action.

Its slow sink behaviour allows sinking pauses between two sequences, deadly on a following fish, and its tail eyelet takes a soft teaser to boost appeal without disturbing the action. It has a clear place in a box of lures for pike geared toward big fish.

Frequently asked questions

Which Baffeur Jerk size to choose, 100 or 125?

The 100 SS (100 mm, 41 g) targets medium pike and goes everywhere, while the 125 SS (125 mm, 69 g) aims at the biggest specimens and casts a long way, even in wind. Choose according to the average size of the pike in your area and the prey present.
