High-End Construction for Extreme Performance
An NFC X-RAY Blank for Ultimate Sensitivity
The Keys Mercury - Signature is built on the SJ 736 X-RAY blank from North Fork Composites, globally recognized for its ultra-lightweight construction and exceptional resonance.
This blank benefits from North Fork Composites’ “scrimless” technology. This design removes a reinforcement layer traditionally used to prevent blank ovalization and to facilitate release from the mandrel during manufacturing.
Combined with a high modulus construction, this technology produces a blank approximately 20% lighter than current standards while significantly increasing resonance. Even the slightest vibration is transmitted with remarkable intensity — like a direct shock through the arm — providing an incredibly precise reading of bottom composition and the most subtle bites.
Premium Components and Carbon Ergonomics
To fully exploit the blank’s potential, Rodhouse selected the best components available on the global market. The Fuji Titanium Torzite guide train offers total corrosion resistance while delivering the smoothest possible line flow to maximize casting distance. The lightweight titanium frames preserve the rod’s natural balance and maintain tip responsiveness during lure animations. The full carbon handle features a refined ergonomic design with a 33 cm distance between the butt and reel seat. This setup provides excellent leverage for long-distance casting while remaining agile and precise for technical fishing applications.
Total Versatility from Seabass to Pike in the 15–40 g Range
This rod stands out as a benchmark for anglers fishing both saltwater and freshwater with lures ranging from 15 to 40 g. Highly versatile, it excels equally with hard bait techniques (topwater and jerkbait minnows) and finesse soft bait fishing. For vertical fishing targeting pollock, it can comfortably handle jig heads up to 100 g. The blank also incorporates a specific resin designed to limit the spread of micro-cracks, significantly improving long-term durability under intensive use. Hand-assembled in France, the Keys Mercury Signature is an exceptional rod delivered with its protective sleeve.
