Product description
Our opinion on the Fox Rage Slick Shad
The Slick Shad is probably the most used Fox Rage soft lure in France across all species, and rightfully so. Its streamlined profile and subtle small paddle make it a lure that convinces the most wary predators, where large-tailed shads are rejected. The 11 cm is our reference format for zander and perch, the 13 cm for pike sessions.

On the water: a finesse profile that triggers difficult strikes
The cylindrical body and small paddle: subtle swimming at all speeds
The Fox Rage Slick Shad is based on a design radically different from flat-bodied, large-paddle shads. Its elongated cylindrical profile generates very little water resistance, which allows it to sink quickly and maintain precise vertical trajectory, both on vertical and linear retrieves. The small ovoid paddle vibrates from the slowest retrieves, with measured amplitude that doesn't disturb predators in clear water or on heavily fished lakes. This discretion is precisely what makes the Slick Shad effective in difficult conditions: cold water in winter, high fishing pressure, wary predators that refuse high water-displacement lures. It remains active and attractive even at very slow retrieve speeds, making it a lure suited to autumn and winter sessions on resting zander and perch.
Three rigs, three fishing contexts
The dorsal and ventral slots integrated into the Slick Shad body allow you to rig it on a weedless Texas hook, which opens access to cluttered edge spots, weeds and sunken wood without snagging risk. On classic jig head, the 11 cm is particularly effective on slow linear retrieve for zander, or on tight vertical on spots detected on screen. On drop shot, the thin profile and plastic softness generate natural movement even at rest, which triggers strikes from perch stationed on drop-offs. The 13 cm on appropriate jig head suits prospecting open zones for pike, on linear retrieve with cadence variations. To optimize vertical presentation, it's possible to slightly trim the lure's head to adapt it to certain non-cylindrical jig head profiles, which makes the overall rig more compact and improves descent.
Five colors for all light and water conditions
The Hot Olive and Lemon Tiger are the two colors to prioritize in colored or turbid water, and in low-light conditions: their warm and contrasting shades remain visible where natural colors lose readability. The Pearl and Silver Halo work particularly well in clear water and good weather, with translucency effects that naturally imitate forage fish. The Electric Flash is the most UV-reactive color, effective in deep water or reduced light conditions to maintain an attractive visual signal at distance.
