The MB 805-1 IM blank is built for predator fishing in salt and fresh water. Its 8' length helps you cast far from a jetty or a bank. The X-Fast action bends mostly in the upper part of the blank. So the tip sends bottom contact to your hand quickly.

You can use it for light shore jigging, bottom bouncing or jerk retrieves. Steady retrieves and rubber jigs also fit its range. On the surface, it works topwater lures from 10 to 30 g. In salt water, it targets seabass from the shore. In fresh water, it suits zander, pike, bass and perch. When bottom bouncing or using jerk retrieves, the lure stays close to the bottom. The fine tip then helps you feel each contact.

Useful measurements for your build

The butt measures 16.46 mm in diameter. The diameter chart shows 16.51 mm at the base and 14.02 mm at 40 cm. Over the first 45 cm, the diameter drops to 13.69 mm. These figures help you choose the grip and reel seat before gluing. At the top, the tip is 2.0 mm. The recommended tip top size is 5-2.

The blank is one piece, so there is no ferrule to set. For line, the recommended range runs from 8 to 12 lb. If you fish mostly from the shore with heavy lures, stay near the top of that range. With lighter lures and thin line, you keep good contact with the lure. Always measure the blank where you will glue before you order parts.
