The Bantam is a rugged casting reel that stands up to any challenge! The Coresolid frame is made from ultra-strong aluminium with remarkable rigidity, giving the assured feel of a "round" profile reel, with the ergonomic design and ease of use of a casting reel.
You'll be familiar with the Bantam name, which has been around for over 40 years and is a firm favourite with lure anglers looking for solid, uncompromising performance. The reel has a neat, powerful look, is easy to match with any mid-range or high-end Shimano fishing rod, and sits well in the hand, making it very easy and comfortable to hold. You'll certainly notice the excellent casting performance and won't fail to be impressed by the powerful fish play that is the hallmark of the Bantam name.
The latest version of the Bantam benefits from a lightweight MGL III spool and SVS Infinity system, which is further enhanced by Silent Tune and Super Free Spool. Lures of any size can be cast safely over remarkable distances and the drag can be adjusted instantly using the external dial to suit different lure sizes or conditions. But it's in retrieve and fishing performance that the Bantam really excels. The combination of Micromodule gearing and Infinity Drive gives super-smooth steering, even when retrieving at fast speeds, and combined with the rigidity of the Coresolid body allows maximum power to be transferred from the handle to the fish when the tension is really there. And don't worry about the lack of elasticity if you're using braided line. The Cross Carbon brake is supple, powerful and always reliable, even in the most demanding conditions.
