Product description
Our take on the Lew's BB1 Pro
The BB1 Pro embodies Lew's benchmark for long, precise casts, combining performance and endurance. You'll quickly gain a few yards thanks to its new 35 mm spool and its offset titanized zirconia line guide. Add to that its new 27-position QuietCast brake that prevents backlashes even when you switch lures all day long. A reel used for over a decade on the US pro circuits — you'll understand why very quickly.

Long-distance casting, the BB1 Pro's playground
Deep crankbaits, frogs and topwaters: distance changes everything!
The Lew's BB1 Pro casting reel was designed around a single obsession: sending the lure farther than the competition. The 35 mm spool, the offset titanized zirconia line guide and the 27-position QuietCast centrifugal brake form a trio that drastically reduces friction on the cast. On deep diving cranks, you gain a few decisive yards to reach the dive zone and increase fishing time at the right depth. On frogs or topwaters, you reach spots that standard reels can't access, and the aluminum frame ergonomics keep the reel comfortable even on 800-cast days.
Black bass, pike and A-rig: fast prospecting fishing
In practice, the BB1 Pro targets power fishing approaches like crankbaits, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits... It's also formidable on more powerful applications like the frog, the A-Rig and other lures up to 100 g. With a 7.5:1 ratio that retrieves 31 inches per crank turn and a 20 lb carbon drag, it'll easily stop a pike hooked in open water or a big bass trying to dive back into cover.
A mechanism built for long sessions
Lew's took care of the details that matter when you spend hours on the water. The pinion is supported by a P2 Super Pinion bearing that ensures precise alignment and smooth rotation, even under load. The 9+1 double-shielded stainless steel bearings and the one-way clutch anti-reverse bearing deliver crisp rotation and instant hook-sets. The custom paddle knobs and the 95 mm bowed handle offer comfortable leverage, and the retractable Speed Keeper holds your lure without scratching the reel between spots.
