Seabass from a kayak or from the bank in an estuary? That is where the PHX-S 723 M is most appreciated. The blank is very resonant, so the slightest tap travels up to your hand. For techniques, it gets built for:
- drop shot;
- bottom bouncing;
- steady retrieves;
- jerkbait minnow;
- topwater.
In fresh water, it targets perch, black bass, zander and trout. With its Phenix logo and specs printed on the blank, the look is classy and unique.
Loading it to 20 g, and its limits
The stated range is 3 to 15 g. If needed, you can load it to 17 or 20 g without any problem, the power reserve is there. On the other hand, this is not the blank for big lures or heavy fishing in cover. For those, you will prefer a more powerful blank from the Phenix Bass Recon range.
For the build, the blank goes from 12.25 mm at 5 cm from the butt to 9.96 mm at 50 cm. Measure the exact spot before choosing your spinning reel seat, for example this very light carbon reel seat (12 g), which is shimmed to fit. The recommended tip top is a 4.5-2.
