The Alps company never ceases to innovate in terms of reel seats. Both on the shape itself and on the material. Here, we take a look at 2 different Alps-exclusive technologies. Soft Touch" and MVT (Micro Vibration Transmission) for Casting and Spinning reel seats, as well as their clamping nuts.

Casting reel stands

ALPS TexTouch

Premium reel seat launched in 2013 by the Alps company. It is cut in three places and provides a very good grip. Its double-grip carbon, nylon and fiberglass frame allows you to put 2 fingers (or even 3) above the ergonomic trigger and be in contact with the blank. Its exclusive "Soft Touch" coating, introduced in 2017, is pleasant to the touch as it is very soft. Sizes up to 13.5 mm come with a Texalium insert. Beyond that, no insert. Weighs 26gr in size 10.5. Available in sizes 10 to 15. Sold without clamping nut. The most suitable being the TX16DN, Textouch Graphite Hoods and TX16FG.

ALPS MVT

The MVT (Micro Vibration Transmission) Casting reel seat was launched in 2014. Also cut in three places, its grip is excellent. Its frame, composed of Toray carbon and nylon, offers greater sensitivity, weight and strength. It is compatible with MVT-16-DKN and MVT HOODS clamping nuts, as the part in contact with the reel and the hand is of the same material.

Sizes up to and including 13.5 come with an insert. Beyond, no insert. Weighs 22gr in size 10.5. Available in sizes 10 to 15. Sold without clamping nut.

These Casting reel seats can easily be fitted with the following accessories accessories:

Split grip handle: EVA rear grip casting Forecast, cork rear grip casting Forecast.

Full grip full : long EVA grip Casting or cork grip long casting.

Possibility of connecting ring between reel seat and handle: ALPS TRC.

Spinning reel carriers

ALPS RPD16S-IS

This reel seat features a carbon, nylon and fiberglass frame. It is covered with an exclusive "Soft Touch" coating. This texture is particularly pleasant in the hand as it is very soft. It has a Texalium insert. Like the Casting Textouch reel seat, it is cut in three places for a better grip, contact with the blank and weight. Length 11.7cm, external diameter 17.3mm, internal diameter 13.6mm. Weight 22gr. Sold without clamping nut. The most suitable being the RPD 16S-DKN as it has the same coating. Sold with an integrated shim.

ALPS RPDMVT16-IC

The RPDMVT16-IC spinning reel seat, launched in 2015, is based on the same materials as the MVT. That is, a frame composed of Toray carbon and nylon. This makes it a state-of-the-art spinning reel seat in terms of lightness, strength and resonance. It is also cut in 3 places and has a Toray carbon-fibre insert. Length: 117.1mm. Outside diameter 17.4mm, inside diameter 15.4mm. Weight 22gr. Sold without clamping nut, the most suitable being the RPDMVT-DKN . Sold with an integrated shim.

These spinning reel seats can be mounted in either direction, with a preference for downward threading, and can be finished with WCS 16 bushings that clip onto both ends.
