Trout fishing, a promising start to the season then a more difficult June!
March and April, two good months.
Finally, on March 11, I can return to my favorite playground: the river and its beautiful farios. Seasons go by and yet I'm still equipped with my trusty rod for Trout fishing: the REVS 54UL from Rainshadow. This blank, weighing just twenty grams and costing only 41 euros, is a real marvel for the fishing I do.
[caption id="attachment_935" align="aligncenter" width="640"] For fishing this type of small river with spoons or NPs, the REVS 54UL is the absolute weapon![/caption]The water is cold, the Trouts are slowly emerging from their lethargy after spawning and so I decide to fish, as always at this time of year, with a good old aglia #2. We sometimes neglect this spoon, which nevertheless never disappoints.
Water levels are decent despite the lack of rain in early spring. The months of March and April are quite productive with some nice fish in great shape and fat as monks.

[caption id="attachment_932" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Cold weather doesn't always go down well with Trout fishing.[/caption]May and June, two extremely complicated months
The lack of water had a huge impact and fishing would soon become complicated. I've never known the months of May and June to be so difficult. As a result, we've found other interests, which isn't bad either, you might say.
[caption id="attachment_936" align="aligncenter" width="640"] When Trout fishing is complicated, don't hesitate to put down your rods and take a look around. Serendipity can sometimes throw up some nice surprises[/caption].
The fish were not very active and, above all, not very visible. I had to vary my lures and abandon the spoons that were so productive at the start of the season. A first for me, I tried, with some success, small spinners.
[caption id="attachment_933" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Small spinners sometimes hold surprises. This one convinced this beautiful Trout[/caption].[caption id="attachment_938" align="aligncenter" width="480"] The TAZ 45 came out on top, bringing me some nice Trout[/caption].
You have to persevere, a nice fish can bite at any time...
During the month of June I had a very difficult day without a bite. While rummaging through my box, I found a little PowerTail from fiiish just begging to see the water. An encouragement: "Come on little one, go find happiness" and hop! A few fish responded to this new solicitation.
[caption id="attachment_937" align="aligncenter" width="640"] This little power tail from Fiiish is a real success! That day, it was either this or nothing[/caption].And then bing! A jewel of nature.... A splendid fario of almost 50 cm came to visit me and fought like hell. A real big kif!
In fishing, as everywhere else, there are ups and downs, the key is to know how to bounce back and not despair. A beautiful fish can bite at any moment. Release your dreams...
