How to choose your blank?

To choose a blank, start by defining your needs, such as the type of fish you're targeting, your fishing technique, the length of the blank, etc. Then use the appropriate filters on the site to refine your choices. Fishing rod blanks: the engine of your rodbuilding project

At Rodhouse, Europe's rodbuilding leader for over 15 years, the fishing rod blank is the central part around which your whole build comes to life. A true extension of your hand, it defines the action, the power and the sensitivity of your future rod. Our catalogue of more than 1,000 references permanently in stock covers every technique: lure fishing, fly, carp, sea, surfcasting, catfish, trout, pike, sea bass, zander.

An exclusive selection of the world's best blank brands

Rodhouse distributes the benchmark brands in rod building: North Fork Composites (Gary Loomis heritage), Rainshadow (Batson), MHX (Mud Hole), Matagi, Suzuki, Harrison Advanced Rods, Xzoga, Black Hole USA, Phenix, CTS, Edge Rods, along with our exclusive brand Rodbuilders' Republic, designed in Europe to fill the gaps left by traditional ranges.

Choosing the perfect blank: length, action, power

Selecting a blank means first defining three key variables: the length (generally from 1.60 m to 4.20 m depending on the technique), the action (tip, moderate or parabolic) and the power (from UL to XXH depending on the species targeted). To guide you, in 2015 Rodhouse developed the Blank Comparator, a tool unique in the world that displays real curves under load from vectorised photographs, with no extrapolation, just reality.

Filter by category, species or technique

Browse our blanks easily by category (freshwater, sea, fly), by target species (sea bass, zander, pike, trout, tuna, catfish, carp, salmon) or by technique (vertical, jigging, swimbait, finesse, surfcasting, trolling). Every product page contains the precise measurements: butt and tip ID/OD, weight, packed length, recommended tip section.

Permanent stock, fast shipping across Europe

All our blanks are stored in our warehouses in Sarzeau (Brittany, France) and shipped quickly throughout Europe. Our technical team is reachable from Monday to Friday to advise you on the choice of your next fishing rod blank. Whether you are new to rod building or an experienced builder, you will find at Rodhouse the carbon blank that matches your project.
