Harrison: carp and catfish rod blanks, landing net handles

In 1989, Steve Harrison opened the doors of Harrison Rods in Liverpool. Fishing was only starting to see what carbon fibre could bring. His idea was simple: use this material to make rods and blanks that live up to demanding anglers.

Carp soon became his field. Harrison launched the Ballista, a carp blank much slimmer than those on the market at the time. The Torrix series was then developed with Terry Edmonds, a record holding distance caster. The Trebuchet, named after the medieval siege engine, pushed this search for distance further still.

More than thirty years on, every Harrison blank still comes out of an English workshop. The WCS25 SE is based on the blank that won the 2025 casting world championship, with a Trebuchet UFR tip. Today's series run from carp to barbel and catfish, with Avon, stalker and spod models.
