Product description
Our take on this fiberglass blank
This fiberglass blank doesn't look like much, but it holds its own against pelagic fish up to 60 kg, even 80 kg if you take your time! For us, the big plus is its progressive action, which will suit anglers who don't like stiff blanks. On the other hand, it's fiberglass, so a bit less reactive and heavier than carbon.

On the boat, from chasing fish to fishing at anchor
A progressive blank for several exo setups
This blank adapts to several uses in exo fishing, and it can handle pelagic fish up to 60 kg, even 80 kg if you take your time. At 2.41 m (8'), it can be built as a spinning rod or a trolling rod. Its progressive action will suit anglers who want a blank that works along its whole length.
- Casting at feeding fish: poppers and stickbaits on the surface, when the tuna are feeding.
- Live bait at mid-depth: mackerel, horse mackerel or sardine, within the blank's line range.
- Fishing at anchor: another way to present the bait, with the same blank.
Bluefin tuna is the obvious target, but this blank also works on other pelagic fish. On the line side, it suits PE6 or PE8 braid. It's an MHX blank, and you'll find the whole range in our MHX blanks.
357 g of fiberglass, tough and forgiving
Fiberglass is tough stuff. It handles impacts well, forgives a lot and stays progressive, which is reassuring on a boat. It also absorbs head shakes.
In return, it's less reactive than carbon and transmits fine bites less clearly. It's also heavier, with 357 g for 2.41 m while some carbon blanks of the same length weigh between 145 and 280 g. If lightness and reactivity matter most to you, take a look at our blanks for bluefin tuna, there are plenty in carbon.
What about transport? A one-piece 2.41 m blank takes up room, so plan ahead.
