The WKS Lighthouse 905-4 joins the Prodigy Workshop Series as a true field solution for anglers fishing medium to large rivers who seek maximum adaptability. This 9-foot blank for a #5 line was selected for its superbly balanced action, combining delicate feedback with authoritative line control. It particularly excels at medium range (10 to 15 m) when fishing long leaders, where its ability to perform technical presentations and precise mends ensures optimal fly presentation.
The guide setup consists of a Fuji Torzite T2 stripping guide and Rodbuilders’ Republic R-SFG316 snake guides (316 stainless steel with titanium plating). Built on the spine with single-foot guides, this choice limits the number of wraps and the amount of varnish in order to preserve the original action and responsiveness of the blank. This configuration enhances blank stability after the cast, preventing unwanted vibrations that can negatively affect accuracy.
Special care has been given to aesthetics and fishing comfort, making the WKS LH 905-4 a tool that is as pleasing to the eye as it is effective on the water. The Full Wells handle in Top Flor cork offers superior quality and ergonomics suited to more powerful casts when needed, while retaining a softness that disappears in the hand. The reel seat with its wood insert and Rodbuilders Republic engravings highlights the artisanal character of the series. On the water, this blank reveals rare adaptability: while it easily casts a #5 line, it also accepts a #4 line for increased finesse in more technical dry-fly fishing.
