The story of the brand

From Blanquefort to predator fishing, a brand born in 2004

Sakura was born in 2004, started by Francis Coutou and Philippe Grawitz. The brand was launched by SERT, a company from Blanquefort. As the market grew more specialised, SERT gave lure fishing for predators a brand of its own. Its name refers to the Japanese cherry tree.

In 2006, Sakura became the first French brand to present a range of 30 lure rods, for fresh water and the sea. The Trinis came out the same year. In 2012 came the first hard lures under its own name, with magnetic weight transfer. That same year, the Furiozza FRC 661ULST casting rod won the Best New Product award at the EFTTEX show.

Today, the brand is still rooted in the Gironde. It designs a complete kit for lure fishing, from the rod to the tackle box. New models join its catalogue every year.
