Bluefin tuna fishing with XXL lures

If you're fishing in the Mediterranean or in Brittany, you won't be looking for the same characteristics in a blank. It's very important to have a rod perfectly adapted to the size of the fish you're after, otherwise you'll end up prolonging the fight.

In the Mediterranean, the most sought-after Blanks are between 7.10' and 8.6', with a line weight between 50 and 70lb.

On the Atlantic coast, south of the Loire, we use Blanks between 7.6 and 8.2' with a power of between 60 and 80lb.

Finally, in Brittany, we use Blanks between 7' and 8' with a line power between 100 and 200lb.

3. Matagi TR 82-M Big Game 2m49, 40-120g, 70lb: This blank is very popular on the Côte d'Azur as it has the ability to cast small lures at long distance while combining great lifting power. Suitable for fish between 20 and 70kg.
4. Rodbuilders' Republic Tuna Express 2m38, 20-80g, 80lb: This blank is truly unique and incredible. It has an extremely supple tip for casting even the smallest lures and a huge reserve of power. Sturdiness is also one of this blank's strong points. The soft tip allows the use of stickbaits, soft lures and small poppers. This poison has already reeled in fish weighing 80kg in a reasonable time, but its core target is between 20 and 70kg.
5. Black Hole USA Nano S7.6' - Black Hole USA Nano S7.6' - Black Hole USA Nano S7.6 2m28, 50-150g, 80lb: A very versatile blank in terms of length, action and power. Effective on fish between 20 and 80kg. It will perfectly handle a popper between 150 and 175mm.

7. NFC RPK 78 2m33, 60-200g, 130lb: An extremely powerful popping blank that has already put tuna weighing 150kg and Giant trevally weighing over 50kg out of the water. If you're looking for a blank to make long bubble trails with an Amegari Dzanga 180 or 230 type popper, this is the one for you.
8. Black Hole USA Cow Special Gen 2 2m20, 70-200g, 130lb: In Brittany, this Blank has built up a solid reputation for fishing fish between 50 and 200kg. The power reserve in the butt is substantial and the tip is relatively supple. This blank has enormous lifting power and makes for short fights.
9. Black Hole USA Giant 7 2m13, 75-200g, 200lb: The heaviest of all Blanks, but also the most forgiving. For anglers who use Black Magic-type harnesses and target the heaviest tuna (over 60kg), this blank is the best. In the Canaries, as in Brittany, this blank has broken many records.
