Fly reel seat

To choose a reel seat for a fly rod, select the diameter of the reel seat according to the diameter of the blank, ensuring that the outside diameter of the reel seat is greater than that of the blank. Also opt for a downlocking reel seat to place the weight at the rear of the rod. For more powerful fishing, choose solid reels such as those made of aluminum.

Generally speaking, reel seats for fly rods are compatible with most fly reels.
