2 techniques to master to return from the sidelines
Jigging rap / Blade bait are not new techniques. Some prefer to stick with more technical or realistic lures. The jigging rap is a lure invented by Rapala for under-ice and vertical fishing. These lead lures are fitted with fins and single and treble hooks. They animate vertically with varying degrees of drift and lift. They measure from 3 to 9 cm and weigh from 5 to 21 g. Pallet sinkers are made up of a small octopus, pearls, hooks and a sinker weighing between 7 and 25 g on average (sometimes more). These two techniques are best used for perch and pike-perch, but also for pike, Catfish and Black bass. They can be used when the fish is active, to avoid damaging more expensive lures and to prospect a maximum volume of water, or conversely, when the fish is inactive on the bottom to irritate them. In both cases, the lures used are very affordable. Spinning is preferred to Casting for greater ease of animation and handle flexibility. All the more so as these are very playful techniques that can be practised by children.

Whether on the JR or the PP, the touchdown occurs 80% of the time on the descent. Line control on the way down is therefore of paramount importance. We use fast rods with x-fast as when fishing Bottom bouncing in order to have a good reactivity to the strike, a good precision of animation and a maximum of resonance. As we don't need to cast, we use short rods, between 6 feet (1m82) and 7 feet (2m13), which allow us to stay in the sounder's beam. Even though you may get a few stalls due to the rod action, you end up with more fish in the end because you're fishing efficiently and you shouldn't hesitate to release the reel brake to dampen fish rushes. Here's a selection of 3 Blanks that fit the bill perfectly:
Rodbuilders' Republic PPS62M, 1m87. To be used for PP or JR up to 18gr.
Rodbuilders' Republic PPS62MH : 1m87. Use for PP and JR up to 30-35g.
Rainshadow IMMWS62MX 1m87, 5-15g: A blank very similar to the PPS62M. To be used for PP or JR up to 18g, or even 21g.
EVA, cork or carbon, choose the handle that's right for you. Don't hesitate to give us the desired length between butt and reel foot so that we can adjust the rings. You can also ask us to change the color of the handle kit rings (while stocks last).
We offer 3 Fuji Guide packs in different finishes, to suit different budgets and frequencies of use. The first segment of the range is occupied by Alconite ceramic Guides with an Inox frame, offering excellent value for money and suitable for occasional use. The frame of these Guides is made of Inox with an anti-corrosion coating. The Alconite ceramic provides good glide and a high heat dissipation rate for the braid, but take care not to spool dry fly braid onto these guides. The second level of the range is occupied by SIC ceramic and Inox-framed Guides. In this Guide range, the frame is still made of coated stainless steel, but the ceramic is made of Fuji SIC, which offers better glide and greater resistance. Finally, the top of the Fuji range is represented by the Titanium-Torzite Guides. The Titanium frame is much lighter and, above all, totally insensitive to corrosion. The ceramic is made from Torzite, another Fuji proprietary material that enables the braid to glide perfectly over the ceramic. This ultra-high-performance ceramic requires less material, so smaller tunnel guides can be used. Less weight = greater sensitivity and performance.
