A dream destination

Madagascar is world-renowned as one of the best spots for exotic multi-species fishing. Fishing camps such as Radama Fishing Camp and Tropical Fishing offer unforgettable holidays for anglers who want to catch magnificent fish while having a great time. Jigging is the leading technique in Madagascar, but the Indian Ocean is so rich in resources that all fishing techniques are practicable: jigging, slow jigging, casting/popping, trolling and longlining. The main predators regularly encountered on these expeditions are Giant trevally, Yellowfin tuna, Bluefin tuna, Swordfish, Marlin, Yellowfin tuna, Dogtooth tuna, Bonito, Dentex, Red carp, King mackerel and various species of Shark. The diversity of species and the richness of the waters make Madagascar a world-renowned fishing destination, attracting enthusiasts from all over the world. Start configuration

Matching blanks

When you go on a fishing trip, in a camp or not, it's really enjoyable and instructive to practice all possible techniques. It allows you to fish in different conditions, hit different fish and get less bored with a particular technique. Take jigging or popping, for example. If you practice one of these two techniques for a whole day when you're not used to it, you can get so worn out that you dread the next day. Starting the day on the coastal plateaus with a popper, heading offshore with a trolling line in the hope of a whaoo, pelamid or other rostrum fish, then jigging or slow jigging on a potato or DCP (fish aggregating device) is a classic and pleasant course. Once offshore, it's not uncommon to come across Yellowfin tuna. You also need to keep an eye out for any drifting wrecks. If this object has been at sea long enough, a food chain has been created underneath it, and that can be a real jackpot! It's then possible to hit several fish, including mahi-mahi, around the wreck. Ideally, to fish Mada, you'll need 6 rods: 2 jigging rods (one 40-50lb and one 80lb), 1 slow jigging rod 40-50lb, 2 casting rods (one light 40-50lb and one 80lb popper rod) and finally a solid trolling rod fitted with a trolling attachment. Clearly, that's a lot of gear, and three rods can do just about anything.

Our recommended handles

One of the big advantages of the rodbuilding is that you can choose your handle lengths according to your morphology, your habit of fighting with or without a harness, and whether or not to wedge the rod under the armpit. Cut and fit the EVA to suit your fishing style, and you'll have a rod that's just right for you.

Compatible guides

The particular dimensions of the scions of the 2 most powerful Blanks leave very little choice of Guide finish. That's why we offer you only one option. This is a Fuji Guide ring pack in Gunsmoke-finish Inox with SIC ceramic. It's a high-performance ceramic that's tough and offers excellent glide. For the Slow Pitch 661-HMF blank, we offer 3 Fuji Guide packs. The first pack consists of Alconite ceramic stainless steel guides. Excellent value for money that already works very well. Just be careful not to spool your braid without wetting it. The second pack is made up of Gunsmoke guides, i.e. ceramic Inox sic. The last pack is made up of SIC ceramic Titanium guides. Titanium is lighter than Inox and totally insensitive to corrosion.
