Most anglers agree that spinning is the most resonant assembly. Casting, on the other hand, offers significant advantages, particularly in terms of comfort. In areas where the bottom is undulating, casting makes it easier to follow the bottom. In fact, with a simple movement of the thumb, you can press the reel's trigger to release line and brake the spool if necessary. As zander  are fish that often lurk on the bottom, in bumps and breaks, casting quickly becomes the most effective assembly. Tracking the bottom with one hand also means you have one hand free for the electric motor remote control or for keeping it warm in your pocket. The blanks used are exactly the same as for spinning. Matching blanks

If you're looking for zander in the Vertical, you need a high-performance blank. Blanks are short, responsive and highly resonant. The weight of the lures varies enormously depending on the sector being fished. To get the maximum thrill out of your lures, it's important to match the power of your blanks to your fishing style.

Rodbuilders' Republic PPS62M: 1m87, 7-28g. This blank is ideal for fishing closed waters without current with lead heads between 5 and 17g and 4 and 5" soft lures.

Rainshadow IMMWS62MX: 1m88, X-Fast 5-15gr. Its maximum vertical power range corresponds to a 20g lead head + a 4 or 5" lure.

Rainshadow IMMWS68MXF: 2m03, X-fast, 7-35gr. A very well known blank for vertical fishing. It is very resonant and responsive. It is often cut back at the heel to 6.2' (let us know in the comments if you want to do this so that we can adapt the Winding checks). Its range of use corresponds to leaded heads between 14 and 35g and soft lures between 4 and 6".

Rodbuilders' Republic PPS62MH: 1m87, 15-40g. Without even mentioning the price, this blank is really excellent for vertical zander fishing. The length is perfect for fishing in the sonar beam and it is very responsive. Its range of use corresponds to leaded heads between 14 and 35g and soft lures between 4 and 6".

North Fork Composites SSH637-1 X-Ray: 1m90, 30-70gr. This blank has been specially developed for vertical pelagic zander fishing with sinkers from 30g.

Our recommended handles

For these handle kits, please specify the desired length between the butt and the reel-holder trigger in the comments on the order form so that the accessories can be adjusted to suit.

Compatible guides

The rotating Brazilian Assembly prevents the braid from touching the blank and means there are fewer guides on the blank, saving weight. We offer 3 Fuji Guide packs in different finishes, corresponding to different budgets and frequencies of use. The first segment of the range is occupied by Alconite ceramic guides with Inox armature, offering excellent value for money and suitable for occasional use. Guides are made of Inox with an anti-corrosion coating. The Alconite ceramic provides good glide and a high heat dissipation rate for the braid, but take care not to spool dry fly braid onto these guides. The second level of the range is occupied by SIC ceramic and Inox-framed Guides. In this Guide range, the frame is still made of coated stainless steel, but the ceramic is made of Fuji SIC, which offers better glide and greater resistance. Finally, the top of the Fuji range is represented by the Titanium-Torzite Guides. The Titanium frame is much lighter and, above all, totally insensitive to corrosion. The ceramic is made from Torzite, another Fuji proprietary material that enables the braid to glide perfectly over the ceramic. This ultra-high-performance ceramic requires less material, so smaller tunnel guides can be used. Less weight = greater sensitivity and performance.
