Like all Lighthouse Blanks, this one strikes first with its power-to-weight ratio. At the top of its class for power yet one of the lightest on the market, the LH9012 shows that you can comfortably cast a 12-grain line without necessarily having Popeye forearms. A magnificent caster, it retains all its poise for backing up to an ultra-plunging 500-grain line. Profiled shooting heads for big flies don't scare it, even when you really have to push the shot. In combat, the blank shows the resistance expected from a 12wt: the reserve at the heel is more than generous, enough to engage in heavyweight combat with serenity.

Recommendations for use: The core business of this blank is undoubtedly big game, in its two main variants: large tarpon in exo, and Mediterranean and South-Western bluefin tuna, up to around 40 kilos. It's also a serious option for the GT. It's also, of course, a blank capable of taking on big catfish, provided you can fight them without taking bends that are beyond the carbon's capabilities.
