I've fished the Loire, the ponds of Sologne and Burgundy, the great lakes of Verdon and the Mediterranean, the lakes and rivers of Occitania, and I regularly return to fish in Ireland.
I've known the time when neither zander nor Catfish swam in our waters, when the Pike was king and the best rods of the time weren't worth the cheapest of today.
The more I refined my fishing, the less the rods suited me. The range of commercial rods was huge, but manufacturers were playing on versatility, and even the very top of the range no longer met my expectations.
