Discover LMX blanks from North Fork Composites

À la découverte des blanks LMX de chez North Fork Composites

I never thought I'd find the perfect rod, and yet I fell in love with these LMXs as soon as I had them in my hand.... Everything became simple, I put my Fly where my eyes were looking. Without a false cast, I could change direction to fish at more than 90° from the initial point.
Bref I was conquered, and yet I've had a lot of fly fishing rods in my hands since I started out several years ago.

...

To get into technique, this is a blank whose action can be described as progressive tip. It's fast while maintaining a certain suppleness at the tip. This makes it easily usable by beginners and advanced anglers alike.

The suppleness of the tip combined with a large reserve of power in the first 2 thirds of the blank mean you can use a fine leader while mastering the rushes of a record fish. At ease at short distances as well as at 20 m, it's also very easy to make rolls as well as to fish with a crossbow under foliage.
If you want the blank to perform at its best, don't hesitate to use a tip-loaded Silk (TT5, SLX5 from Barrio, etc.). This type of Silk will load the blank and your casts will be fast and accurate.
After 2 seasons of use I can affirm that it knows how to do everything, I use it mainly for Sight nymphing and Dry fly with a leader of more than 6 m. But at the start of the season, I don't hesitate to stick a #4 streamer on it, just to decide on a nice big fario.

Bref, you'll have understood, this blank is ideal for our everyday fishing and will be able to adapt to all the conditions you may encounter along the river as the day goes on.
The last advantage of this blank: it's in 4 strands, it will be the ideal companion for globetrotters ;-)

Assembly tips:

The blank:
6 references are available on the Rodhouse website.
From 8'#4 to 9'#12 to 9'#5, there's bound to be a blank to suit you.

Here's the LMX 590-4, 9' Silk from 5. A monster!

The handle:
You can, of course, turn cork washers (there are several tutorials on the Rodhouse forum) and take the reel holders separately, but you can also use the Fly Handle kits available on the store. Kit number 4, aesthetically speaking, has my preference.

The rings:
For the rings once again, no headaches, I stick him with a pack of rings for blanks with a power of 4 to 7.
For the tip ring I recommend a XTCHFTL.

4-strand LMX fly rod
4 strands for an exceptional rod that will follow you everywhere, all the time.

Ring distribution on the blank:
I'll give you the one I made on my personal rod (the LMX 590-4: 9'#5): starting from the tip :12.5/14/15/18/20/22/23/25/25.5
Please note, all the above references are for the LMX590 which is my personal rod. So you'll need to adapt the supplies if you take a smaller or more powerful blank.
