Vertical fishing: 62mx Power!
By Baptiste. If there's one reason I love winter, it's for all-day vertical outings.
Vertical fishing is fascinating, ultra-technical and allows you to catch a lot of fish. However, you need to use the right equipment.
I've been fishing this way for years, and it took some learning and patience before I really progressed in this technique. Firstly, because it's a fishery that requires a good knowledge of the environment and the use of electronics. Finally, a large part of the success of this technique lies in the precision of the animation and the position of the lure in relation to the bottom*. To really make progress on this last point, the Assembly of my 62MX from Rainshadow was a real springboard.
.* Words I was able to gather via Wim Van de Velde, one of the fathers of the Vertical in the fishing world, who also greatly appreciated the technical characteristics of the 62MX.
Features:
This little 1m87 blank for barely 35 grams is THE blank for Vertical practice. Quite simply, it has all the Necessary technical features to enable you to practice this technique effectively:
Resonance / sensitivity / lightness / precision / length / power reserve
These different features allow you to follow the background perfectly and feel all the information you need in order to keep your Assembly sinful. For example, you'll feel a single leaf preventing your shad's tail from vibrating. And what can we say about the discreet keys... No more doubts on this side!
Once fitted, this blank is ideal for vertical fishing with sinkers from 5 to 21 grams and soft lures from 3 to 6 inches. Above this range, you'll prefer its big sister, the famous 68 MX or the NFC MB 664 HM.
. Its power reserve is huge and will allow you to get the biggest Zander out of your rivers without any trouble. With a minimalist Assembly and a set of rings adapted to the filament sizes used, my assembled rod weighs ... 56 grams! Can you beat that? Really? A small reel in size 1000 will complete your set, which will literally be forgotten during your fishing sessions. This is truly one of my favourites. Try the 62 MX too, you'll only regret not having fitted it first! Check out my Assembly ICI!
