Choose a shrink tube whose diameter is slightly larger than the part you wish to cover, to ensure a proper fit when customizing your fishing rod.

Apply a thin layer of glue (Tuff Glue) to the handle, push in the shrink tube, leaving about 3 cm protruding on each side, and use a heat gun or hair dryer to shrink it. Once dry, trim off the excess grip, use a reamer, then sand for a flawless finish.

The purpose of the shrink tube is to protect the handle while adding grip, thus improving rod comfort and handling.
