MHX F905-4: the must-have
By Edouard MonchyWhat can I tell you about this blank..... Do I think the MHX F905-4 is great? Can it do everything in its class? Is it versatile enough to go from Dry fly at any distance, Sight nymphing, Tightline nymphing and when the spot lends itself to streamer on a 4 hook weighted with a size 4 tungsten bead? YES!
As you can see, this is one of my "coup de cœur" blanks.
It has a fast action with a soft tip on the top third of the blank, allowing you to fish in 10s without tightening your buttocks in your waders, and the last 2 thirds are there to ensure speed, line control and fighting with a nice fish.
[caption id="attachment_492" align="aligncenter" width="576"] Its action suits beginners (forgiving small casting errors) as well as more experienced anglers.[/caption]The MHX F905-4 is capable of fishing with a crossbow as well as easily spreading a long leader so dear to sight fishermen. The only drawback is that rolling casts require a little technique and mastery, but with a few casting sessions on the meadow, things quickly fall into place.

To give you an idea of the action during a video fight : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWYfHhPAtts
As you can see, I love this fly rod and I'd recommend it straight away to anyone who asks me for a good all-round fly blank. And for the price, I defy you to find better.
